Romanisti does not seek a uniform style.

It seeks a recognizable voice.

Style can be imitated.

Voice must be cultivated.

The purpose of this document is not to prescribe sentences, but to preserve an editorial character that future generations of Romanisti may inherit.

Every editor will write differently.

Every Romanisti article should nevertheless feel as though it belongs to the same institution.

This document therefore concerns not grammar, but judgment.

Not technique, but restraint.

Not personality, but stewardship.

Writing is never an act of self-expression alone.

It is an act of institutional continuity.

Say less.

Trust the reader.

Avoid certainty where certainty is not possible.

The voice belongs to Romanisti.

Not the individual editor.
